Facial Reflexology

Facial Reflexology

Reflexology is a form of natural, holistic therapy based on the discovery that there are points on the Face (ears, hands & feet) which correspond to organs, systems and structures with the entire body. This corresponding relationship is called a ‘reflex’, which when stimulated at one point brings about a response in another point or area. In reflexology by using special pressure techniques to stimulate the points on the feet, imbalances in the tissues, organs and systems of the body can be detected and effectively treated to restore the body to balance and well-being.

Facial Reflexology refers to physical stimulation of the reflex areas of the face without the use of needles. The techniques used in facial reflexology are different to those used with the ear, feet and hands, primarily because of the different in size from the face to the ears, hands and feet.

The Treatment

Facial Reflexology is a treatment used which activates the natural healing abilities of the body. Facial reflexology is a Vietnamese-inspired technique that allows healing arts practitioners an additional treatment options for clients seeking drug-free interventions. This gentle and soothing treatment allows for recipients to experience great states of relaxation.

Facial reflexology was developed by Vietnamese doctors to be an alternative to acupuncture. It’s an ‘energy rebalancing’ approach to wellness. There are 57 facial points that correspond to the energy bodies of the major organs. Stimulating these points results in improved energy levels in the body, engaging the body’s innate healing process.

  • Arrive on time. This insures that you don’t arrive flustered and stressed. It also means that you will get the most out of your treatment. We ask all clients to arrive 10-15 minutes before their treatment is due to begin.
  • Talk to your therapist. If you are concerned or anxious about anything to do with your treatment let us know. We want to make sure you are comfortable and relaxed.
  • We ask our clients to ensure they arrive clean and ready for their treatment. If you are coming straight from work or the gym, please let us know and we can arrange for the use of our shower facilities before the treatment. (A surcharge will apply).
  • All new clients will need to complete a full medical and lifestyle questionnaire before their treatment. All existing clients will need to complete a treatment record card before any subsequent treatments. • Please wear loose comfortable clothing and appropriate underwear. For any spa treatments, a robe will be provided for your comfort.

Everyone client has to complete a medical and lifestyle questionaire on their first visit - we ask you to arrive early (approximately 20 minutes) to allow you time to complete this in our relaxation area. On every subsequent visit you will be asked to confirm that none of the details have changed. This is primarily for your protection and to ensure we are aware of any contra-indications before providing tretment. It is also a requirment of our insurers.

  • Avoid any headache tablets as these too contain caffeine
  • Avoid eating a heavy meal. Eat a light and natural diet, as refined and processed foods add to the toxicity levels within the body and hinder the natural healing process
