Hot Stone & Jade Reflexology

Hot Stone & Jade Reflexology

Hot stones can be incorporated into a reflexology treatment to further enhance the benefits of the treatment. It is estimated that one stroke of a hot stone is worth five strokes with the hand! It is also believed to yield five times deeper and five times longer lasting effects compared to a 'traditional' reflexology session. The heat helps to relax the muscles in the feet allowing the therapist to work deeper into the reflex areas.

The stones are composed of basalt, a volcanic rock, which due to its high density retains heat well. They are heated at a controlled temperature and are only applied to the skin at a comfortable temperature.

Cold Jade Wands are also used in this treatment to work the Sen lines of the feet and legs. For the ancients, these lines formed a map of what we now know as the nervous system and can be treated directly using the Jade Wands.

The Treatment

Hot stones are incorporated into a reflexology treatment and can also be used for the whole treatment with no thumb walking at all; using large stones to warm and massage the legs and feet, and small stones to work reflex points and more specific areas.

The therapist will also use Jade Wands, concentrating on working the Sen channels in the Feet and Legs which help release blocked energy through specific techniques enabling these to stimulate the energy flow.
