Nepalese Oil & Marma Point Massage

Nepalese Oil & Marma Point Massage

Nepalese Oil and Marma Points Massage is linked to Ayurveda and is a traditional Nepalese/Indian alternative medicine system that has a long, rich history of use. Under Ayurvedic medicine, it’s believed that the five elements of the world have a huge impact on a person’s health.

Marma points are specific anatomical locations in your body through which the energy of these elements is believed to flow. Marma point therapy is the practice of stimulating these spots through gentle massage therapy, which specific Dosha Marma Oils are also used.

Ayurvedic medicine proposes marma points therapy as a method of changing or improving your biochemistry. It’s believed to release stagnant energy and stimulate your internal organs, hormones, and other chemicals to help meet the needs of your body.

Marma points therapy is a traditional Ayurvedic massage technique that’s believed to help sustain the flow of energy throughout your body. There are believed to be 107 marma points located around your body. Stimulation of these points is said to affect everything from the health of your organs to the production of hormones and more. The points are also stimulated using different essential oils.

The Treatment

Nepalese Oils and Marma points therapy is done by gently stimulating the marma points around your body through massage therapy using different aromatic oils.

Your therapist will work with the Marma points to help achieve electro-chemical balance in the body. The idea behind massaging the Marma points is to cleanse blocked energy (Chi), by either arousing or calming the doshas.

During a Marma point massage, the points are massaged in a deliberate sequence using specific essential oils.

Marma point massage is not so much a full body massage, but more like a very light stimulation of the points on the body with oils.
